Position: School Mental Health Assistant

Full-Time Term-Time Only

Start Date: ASAP or September 2025

Sector: Education and Training

Salary: 460- 500 per week

We're looking for a compassionate, motivated, and emotionally intelligent individual to join a supportive team in the education and training sector as a School Mental Health Assistant at a forward-thinking school in Bishop's Stortford. This is an ideal opportunity for a graduate eager to gain hands-on experience supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs - experience that's highly valued in careers such as education, counselling, youth work, or clinical psychology.

The Role

  • Support students with SEMH challenges, both in and out of class
  • Work 1:1 or in small groups to develop emotional regulation and coping strategies
  • Collaborate with SENCOs, educational psychologists, and pastoral staff
  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment where all students feel understood
