Are you a recent Psychology graduate or experienced SEMH teaching assistant eager to embark on a rewarding career in the education and training sector? Do you have a passion for supporting mental health and working alongside a dedicated Clinical team within a school environment?

If so, this opportunity is perfect for you!

  • Position: School Mental Health Assistant - SEMH Teaching Assistant
  • Location: Bristol - BS4
  • Easily accessible by public transport, short walk from Temple Meads train station
  • Salary: £90 - £100 per day, depending on experience
  • Contract: Long Term, 5 days a week (8:30 AM - 4:30 PM)
  • Sector: Education and Training

This role offers an excellent stepping stone for those aiming for careers in Counselling, Mental Health, Wellbeing, Social Care, Youth Justice, or related fields. As a School Mental Health Assistant at a mainstream school in central Bristol, you'll play a crucial role in supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs

What We're Looking For as a School Mental Health Assistant:

  • Educational Background: A degree in Psychology or a related field is preferred. Previous experience with SEN is highly desirable, particularly for Criminology and Psychology graduates.
  • Passion for Mental Health: A strong interest in mental health, particularly in relation to SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs.
  • Understanding of SEN: A keen interest or understanding of the diverse learning and behavioural needs within an SEN setting.
