Job summary

The Education Authority in Northern Ireland is seeking a Catering Assistant to support the daily operation of the school catering unit under supervision. You will assist with food preparation, meal serving, hygiene, and promoting meals to pupils and parents.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Previous catering or customer service experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

Basic preparation of food and beverages, including preparation of vegetables and snacks.
Simple cooking and reconstitution of prepared food.
Organising and controlling food service points and serving meals.
Promoting meals to pupils, parents and principal.
Maintaining hygiene and cleaning duties in kitchen and dining areas.
Recording temperatures and complying with regulations.
