Job summary

Claires Court seeks a reliable Maintenance and Caretaking Operative to join its Estates Team in Maidenhead. The role is permanent, full time, with 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday, and responsibilities across repairs, safety and grounds maintenance.

The successful candidate will carry out planned and reactive tasks, support events, and help keep buildings, grounds and facilities safe and well-presented for pupils and staff. Prior school experience is useful but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance or caretaking roles is preferred.
• Ability to carry out basic plumbing, carpentry and minor electrical tasks.
• Practical hands-on approach with good judgement and prioritisation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across school sites.
• Repair general faults, undertake basic plumbing and decorating tasks.
• Support room setups, deliveries, grounds care and security checks.
• Complete fire alarm and emergency lighting checks where required.
• Liaise with events and ensure sites are safe and well-presented.
