Job summary

Robert Miles Infant School is seeking a reliable and approachable individual to assist with the dining area and supervise pupils during meal times. The role involves setting up and clearing down the dining space, managing queues, and ensuring a safe, orderly service.

Uniformly, the candidate will help with spillages, tray handling, scraping crockery, and supporting pupils when returning items. Attendance at meetings and safeguarding adherence are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with set up and clear down of the dining area, including tables and chairs.
• Supervise pupils in the dining area.
• Control queues inside and outside to promote an orderly meal service.
• Ensure spillages are removed quickly.
• Ensure trays are left safely stacked and scraped.
• Support pupils with return and scraping of crockery and cutlery.
• Keep tables clean and ready for the next occupant.
• Assist to relieve bottlenecks at the hot trolley as required.
• Supervise pupils to follow the flow routes.
• During wet weather supervise indoor play in classrooms.
• Administer first aid as necessary and record treatments given.
• Participate in playing games.
• Take out and put away outdoor toys from the shed.
• Follow safeguarding protocols.
• Participate in meetings and training sessions as necessary.
• Any other duties within the responsibilities/grade of the post.
