Job summary

North Lincolnshire Council is seeking friendly, reliable individuals to join our School Kitchen Team to help make lunchtimes a great experience for pupils. You will deliver meals between sites, assist with food prep, and maintain high hygiene standards in a busy school kitchen.

The role runs Monday to Friday, 10am–2pm during term time, with mileage claimed at the council rate. A car and driving licence are essential for this role, and DBS checks and safeguarding procedures apply.

Qualifications

• Caring attitude and team spirit.
• Good communication skills - especially with children.
• Basic literacy and numeracy.
• Awareness of food hygiene, allergens, and safeguarding.
• Willingness to complete training (e.g. Manual Handling, Food Hygiene).

Responsibilities

• Picking up lunches from Luddington school kitchen and delivering and serving at Eastoft school.
• Help prepare and serve nutritious school meals.
• Set up and clear the dining area.
• Wash up and keep the kitchen clean and tidy.
• Support the cook with food prep and cooking.
• Follow hygiene and safety procedures.
• Complete kitchen paperwork (e.g. cleaning schedules, temperature logs).
