North Ayrshire Council is seeking a part-time School Library Assistant to deliver essential library services across multiple secondary schools. The role involves significant student interaction, aiming to enhance learning outcomes through library support. Candidates must be prepared to meet child safeguarding requirements, including obtaining a PVG check. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with educational staff and contribute positively to student learning.

Rate: £13.48 - £13.78 per hour

Hours: 28 hours per week
We may conduct our interviews in person or using Microsoft Teams for video calling. All you need is a device with a camera and access to the internet. We will provide guidance and instructions on how to use this method if your interview is being held virtually.
The post of School Library Assistant gives an exciting opportunity of delivering a front-line library service to the pupils and staff of our secondary/campus schools as part of the North Ayrshire Libraries team, contributing to the learning outcomes of the school. All posts will work across 2 paired secondary schools, spending 14 hours per week in each. The hours of work will be 8.30 - 4pm each day. The secondary schools have been paired as below Largs Campus and Ardrossan Academy Greenwood Academy and Irvine Royal Academy St Matthews Academy and Auchenharvie Academy Garnock Community Campus and Kilwinning Academy.

Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant PVG check (£59 or £18), which will be deducted in instalments from your wages following commencement of employment.
