Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic School Librarian to lead the development of our school library and reading culture at our forward-thinking secondary school.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting our whole-school priority in improving reading engagement and literacy outcomes. You will:

• Manage and develop a well-resourced, welcoming library space
• Promote reading for pleasure and academic success across all year groups
• Collaborate with teaching staff to support the use of reading into the curriculum
• Organise engaging reading events, author visits, and book clubs
• Support with improving reading levels of all learners in our school environment

We are looking for a hardworking, committed individual who has a genuine interest books, literature and promoting a reading culture across the school.

Previous experience of working with young people would be an advantage. In addition, you must be willing to undertake emergency first aid training.
