We are working with a forward-thinking secondary school that is investing heavily in literacy ahead of National Year of Reading 2026. The school is looking for an experienced, dynamic Librarian who can transform the library into a vibrant hub of reading, research, and curiosity.

This is not a quiet, shelf-stacking role — the school wants a strategic lead who can bring reading to life across the whole community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of the library as the centrepiece of whole-school reading culture.
  • Design and deliver engaging reading initiatives linked to National Year of Reading 2026.
  • Curate a diverse, inclusive, and inspiring collection that supports curriculum needs and student interests.
  • Run clubs, events, competitions, and reading interventions that actively drive student engagement.
  • Work closely with English, SEN, and pastoral teams to promote literacy for all learners.
  • Manage library systems, resources, and budget effectively.
  • Mentor and inspire student librarians.
