A leading company in healthcare is looking for a part-time School Learning Support Assistant at Bere Clinic School. You will support teachers in delivering lessons to young people with eating disorders, engaging them in their learning and behavior progression. The ideal candidate will have strong literacy and numeracy skills, along with a compassionate approach to working with young people.
This is a part-time temporary role as a School Learning Support Assistant at Bere Clinic School, which is part of Elysium Healthcare. The successful candidate will provide support to teachers in delivering lessons and supporting 12 young people aged 11-17 with eating disorders. The role requires experience working with children in a school setting, as well as qualifications related to education, excellent literacy and numeracy skills, and the ability to empathize and engage with young people.
As a learning support assistant, you will provide on-hand support to teachers as they design and deliver classroom lessons. This will see you assist in the preparation for these lessons, ensuring that the classroom has all of the materials required and supporting pupils to engage in the syllabus. You'll be able to think creatively and build a strong rapport with the cohort, encouraging engagement and support with their learning, behaviour and social skills progression.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
• Previous experience of working with children in a school setting.
• Excellent literacy, numeracy and ICT skills
• Hobbies/interests/skills that contribute to a wide curriculum offering
• Have experience of working with young people with SEMH needs and/or SEN
• Be able to identify and implement interventions to ensure that students engage in lessons and make progress
• Be resilient, flexible, and adaptable in approach to meet the needs of each individual
• Be able to empathise and engage easily with young people, offering appropriate and professional support at all times
