Job summary

Impact Food Group is recruiting a Cook Manager for a Harrogate primary school. You will lead a kitchen team, oversee daily operations, and ensure delivery of fresh, seasonal meals to students each day.

The role is hands-on with staff development, menu planning, stock control, and strict adherence to food hygiene standards. Working hours are 27.5 per week, term time plus inset days, with daytime shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a kitchen, ideally in schools or high-volume catering environments.
• Skilled in preparing fresh, seasonal food.
• Strong people management and team leadership skills.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Proactive, hands-on approach with pride in high standards.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Lead, motivate and develop the catering team.
• Prepare and serve fresh, seasonal school meals.
• Plan menus, manage stock, and ensure food hygiene compliance.
• Liaise with onsite clients and stakeholders.
