Job summary

Impact Food Group is hiring a Cook Manager for Aldryngton Primary School in Reading. This term-time role covers 39 weeks per year with shifts from 8:30am to 2:00pm (25 hours per week).

You will lead a kitchen team to deliver fresh, seasonal meals to students and manage menus, stock and hygiene standards. Ideal candidates will have kitchen management experience in schools or high-volume catering, strong leadership, and a hands-on approach to maintaining high quality food and service.

Qualifications

• We’re looking for an experienced Cook/Chef Manager with strong leadership skills and a passion for food.
• Experience managing a kitchen, ideally in schools or high-volume catering environments.
• Skilled in preparing fresh, seasonal meals.
• Strong people management and team leadership skills.
• Organised, proactive and able to maintain high standards, with food hygiene/regulations knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day running of the kitchen
• Leading, motivating, and developing the catering team
• Preparing and serving fresh, seasonal meals for the school
• Planning menus, managing stock, and ensuring food hygiene compliance
