Job summary

Daniel Owen Ltd is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to run a busy school catering operation in Hull. You will lead the team, ensure high service standards, manage menus and stock, and liaise with clients.

This term-time only role offers sociable Monday to Friday hours, 7am-3pm, 36.25 hours per week, and a fixed term contract until November 2027, with 39 weeks plus paid holiday. Enhanced DBS required.

Qualifications

• Previous catering management or team leadership experience.
• Food industry experience and/or relevant qualifications.
• Strong knowledge of catering service delivery.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Good IT skills.
• Understanding of safeguarding requirements.
• Relevant Health & Safety qualification, ideally IOSH.
• Cashless catering system experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Managing and supporting the catering team.
• Ensuring menus, recipes and presentation standards are followed.
• Maintaining excellent food quality and customer service.
• Liaising with clients and gathering feedback.
• Managing stock and approved suppliers.
• Training, inducting and developing team members.
• Ensuring food hygiene, Health & Safety and safeguarding procedures are followed.
