Job summary

Ver tas is seeking a School Chef for Westwood Infant & Nursery in NG16 5JA. The role is 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00–13:00, 39.2 weeks per year. You will lead the kitchen, cook meals, manage stock and ensure food safety and quality for pupils and staff.

Applicants should have school catering experience, knowledge of allergens and health and safety, plus strong organisational and leadership skills. DBS checks are part of the process.

Qualifications

• Experience as a School Chef or senior catering lead in a school or similar environment.
• Knowledge of food safety, allergens and health & safety requirements.
• Ability to lead kitchen staff and manage day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve high quality meals for pupils and staff.
• Manage daily kitchen operations and stock control.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and health and safety legislation.
• Lead and support kitchen colleagues and maintain records.
• Deliver excellent customer service to pupils, staff and visitors.
