Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council is seeking a Cook in Charge at Kirklandpark Primary School in Strathaven. The role oversees a catering team, manages workloads and ensures food safety standards are met. You will prepare meals, order goods and conduct quality audits as part of daily operations.

Hours are 35 per week, Monday to Friday, with a starting salary of £26,479 to £27,063 per year. The post includes supervision of staff and cash handling responsibilities within a school catering facility.

Qualifications

• Supervision of a team of Facility Assistants (Catering) and related training.
• All aspects of food safety, quality audits and health compliance.
• Handling cash, balancing and recording transactions as part of the catering function.
• Ensuring a customer orientated service and effective communication.
