Job summary

Outwood Academy Brumby is seeking a Catering Assistant to support the preparation, cooking and serving of meals, ensuring high standards of hygiene and safety in a busy school kitchen.

You will work as part of a dedicated team, handling dishwashing, cleaning, and occasional cashier duties while maintaining excellent customer service for students and staff. A DBS check is required and a willingness to develop qualifications in safeguarding and health and safety.

Qualifications

• Essential Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate or demonstrable experience at that level.
• Experience or knowledge of working with food in a kitchen environment is required.
• Experience and understanding of customer service.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of food.
• Rigorously follow food hygiene, cleanliness, health and safety, COSHH regulations.
• Wash dishes, cutlery, containers and catering equipment.
• Clean all catering areas daily to an agreed standard.
• Operate as a cashier under supervision when required.
• Report accidents or incidents promptly.
