Job summary

Outwood Grange Academies Trust in Scunthorpe is seeking a Catering Assistant to join a dedicated team focused on preparing, cooking, and serving high-quality meals. You will help maintain strict hygiene and safety standards in a busy school environment.

Duties include dishwashing, kitchen cleaning, and occasional cashier duties. You should have Level 2 Food Hygiene or equivalent, kitchen experience, and a customer-service mindset. DBS clearance is required to support safeguarding in our academy.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate or equivalent.
• Experience working with food in a kitchen environment.
• Experience and understanding of customer service.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Satisfactory DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving of food and beverages.
• Wash dishes, cutlery, containers and all catering equipment; keep areas clean and safe.
• Operate as cashier when required and under supervision.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, hygiene and COSHH regulations.
• Report accidents or incidents as they occur.
