Job summary

The Supply Register Ltd. is seeking a School Catering Assistant in Manchester to support food preparation, serving and cleaning during term time. Hours are 10am-2pm, Monday to Friday, with potential variation.

The successful candidate will work in a busy kitchen, ensure food safety, and assist the cook with duties as required. Experience in catering and a friendly, can-do attitude are essential. DBS check via update service and two references are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or busy kitchen with health and safety compliance.
• Able to work as part of a team with initiative.
• Good customer service and high standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• DBS check via update service preferred; provide two references.

Responsibilities

• Support with food preparation, serving, washing up and cleaning.
• Follow high standards of food safety and health requirements.
• Prepare meals with regard to dietary requirements and allergies.
• Assist with recipe costing, stock control and record keeping.
• Communicate well with pupils and school team.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Catering Operations Manager.
