Job summary

Randstad Education in Liverpool is looking for School Catering Assistants for roles within Sefton schools. A school catering assistant helps prepare, cook, and serve healthy meals to students and staff.

Responsibilities include food preparation, counter service, operating tills, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness and food hygiene. Part-time hours around 15-25 hours per week during term time with DBS check required.

Qualifications

• Part-time hours, term-time only (approximately 15–25 hours per week).
• Must be able to stand long periods, bend frequently and lift heavy items.
• Enhanced DBS check is required by law.
• A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is highly beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Food prep and service: cut, peel, and assemble ingredients for daily meals.
• Serve food portions to students, manage allergens and dietary restrictions.
• Hygiene and cleaning: wash dishes, mop floors, sanitize equipment.
• Customer service: operate till and maintain a welcoming lunch-time environment.
• Stock management: receive deliveries, check expiry dates, store items properly.
