Edsential Community Interest Company is seeking a part-time kitchen assistant to support the Catering Supervisor at St. John's Catholic Junior School. You will help with meal preparation, serving, and maintaining a clean dining environment, ensuring food safety and good customer service.

Salary is paid over 12 months (term-time plus two cleaning days) at £13.45 per hour, 10 hours per week. The role requires flexible travel to other local schools and a positive, proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in school kitchen helpful but training will be provided
• Strong customer-facing communication and relationship building skills
• Able to work in a busy, sometimes manual environment

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, cooking and serving meals, manage portion control and allergens
• Prepare dining areas and service counters for meal service
• Maintain hygiene and safety in dining, kitchen and staff areas
