Job summary

Chartwells is seeking a motivated Kitchen Assistant on a part-time basis. You will be contracted to 12.5 hours per week across 43.8 weeks per year, joining a team that takes pride in food, brand, and people.

You will prepare high-quality meals, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and assist with deliveries while upholding safeguarding standards including DBS checks. This is part of Compass Group UK&I serving schools. Progression opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Food handling & hygiene knowledge and ability to maintain high cleanliness standards.
• Willingness to work as part of a team and support colleagues.
• Good time management and reliability, able to prioritise tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious, high-quality food for clients and customers.
• Maintain a high standard of kitchen cleanliness and organise surrounding areas.
• Ensure correct use of all kitchen machinery and equipment.
• Assist with loading or unloading deliveries and supply vehicles.
• Represent Chartwells and uphold a positive brand image.
• Comply with Food Handling & Hygiene standards and health & safety regulations.
• Demonstrate ability to work under pressure and be an excellent team player.
• Be flexible to work shifts and demonstrate exceptional timekeeping.
