Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a General Kitchen Assistant at Barnsole Primary School in Gillingham. The role is term-time only—38 weeks per year—and permanent, part-time, with a pay rate of £12.71 per hour. You’ll work Monday to Friday, 12:00pm–2:00pm, contributing to a busy school kitchen and dining environment.

The successful candidate will join a supportive team that values hygiene, safety, and high service standards, with training provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Positive attitude and reliability are valued.
• Strong teamwork and clear communication are essential.
• Good organisation and attention to detail help in a busy environment.
• Previous catering or food service experience is helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and serving of food and beverages.
• Maintain clean, safe, hygienic kitchen and dining areas.
• Replenish food displays and service counters as required.
• Support deliveries and store supplies as needed.
• Follow food hygiene and health and safety procedures.
• Provide friendly, helpful service to customers and colleagues.
