Job summary

Derbyshire County Council is inviting applications for a Catering Assistant to join our school kitchen team in Matlock, Derbyshire. You will support the kitchen supervisor across production units and servery setups, assisting with food preparation, cooking, portion control, allergen handling and dining room preparation.

Successful candidates will have NVQ food hygiene certification upon appointment and must be able to work in a safeguarding environment with enhanced DBS checks.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the NVQ food hygiene certificate will be required upon appointment.

Responsibilities

• Support the kitchen supervisor in all areas of the service in various schools.
• Food preparation, cooking, portion control, allergen compliance and preparing the dining room for service.
• Help ensure food hygiene and health & safety regulations are followed.
