Job summary

Derbyshire Catering Service, part of Derbyshire County Council, is recruiting a Catering Assistant to join our kitchen team at Brackenfield Send School. You will support the kitchen supervisor across production and servery units, assist with food preparation, cooking, portion control, allergen handling, and preparing the dining room for service, while upholding food hygiene and safety standards.

This role offers the chance to work in a busy school environment and contribute to positive lunchtime

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the NVQ food hygiene certificate will be required upon appointment.
• You will be supporting the kitchen supervisor in all areas of the service at Brackenfield Send School.
• May involve working at a production unit or at a servery unit.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation, cooking and portion control.
• Allergen handling and compliance.
• Preparing the dining room for service and serving meals to customers while maintaining food hygiene and safety regulations.
