Education and Skills - Building Bright Futures
We have an exciting opportunity for a Regional School Improvement and Excellence Lead to join the School Effectiveness Team.
Are you passionate about raising standards and improving outcomes for children and young people across schools in Wiltshire? Do you want to be part of a service dedicated to supporting school leaders and ensuring that every child attends a good school? The Schools Effectiveness service is responsible for ensuring the development and effectiveness of primary, secondary and special schools, with specific focus on maintained schools, across Wiltshire.
As a Regional School Improvement and Excellence Lead, you will lead school improvement efforts across up to 80 schools in your region, including primary, secondary, and special schools. You will work closely with headteachers, governors, and education partners to support and challenge schools to achieve a minimum of a "Good" Ofsted rating. You will use data and local knowledge to identify schools at risk, coordinate support, and lead improvement strategies. You will also manage a team of School Improvement Advisers and play a key role in shaping the future of education in Wiltshire.
Our ideal candidate will hold a Qualified Teacher Status, alongside recent headship or senior leadership experience in a school or local authority environment, and a strong track record in school improvement. Expert knowledge, and proven experience of supporting and challenging schools to successfully raise standards and secure school improvement, as well as in-depth knowledge of school effectiveness including school evaluation linked with the Ofsted inspection framework, will be essential. You will need excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach, and the confidence to lead change. Prior experience as an Ofsted inspector or having completed Ofsted training will be beneficial for this role but is not required.
If you are an experienced, qualified teacher with a passion for improving education provisions for our Children and Young People, we welcome you to apply!
