Job summary

Vaccination UK is seeking a qualified immunisation nurse for a three-month fixed-term post. You will vaccinate schoolchildren on site, including flu-season sessions, targeting 20–25 children per hour.

The role includes consent triage, parent contact, and travel between sites within a small vaccinator team. Applicants must hold nursing and/or midwifery registration, with documented Hepatitis B, MMR and Varicella immunity, and be registered with NMC, GPhC, or HCPC.

Qualifications

• Nursing or midwifery qualification is required.
• Registered nurse, pharmacist or allied health professional.
• Immunisations with proof of Hepatitis B, MMR and Varicella.

Responsibilities

• Vaccinate schoolchildren on site, aiming for 20–25 per hour.
• Administer IM and nasal vaccinations.
• Triage consent forms and contact parents as needed.
• Conduct Gillick assessments and obtain verbal consent.
• Deliver safe, evidence-based care and report incidents.
• Maintain safeguarding and keep records up to date.
• Move vaccines between sites and travel as directed.
