Our client, a vibrant and inclusive school based in Walthamstow, is looking for a proactive and organised HR Officer to join their team. This role is central to the smooth running of the school’s HR function and offers an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administration skills and a passion for people.

As a HR Officer, you will:

• Oversee all day-to-day HR administration, including starters, leavers, contracts, and DBS checks
• Manage recruitment campaigns from advertising through to onboarding
• Act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries from staff and management
• Maintain accurate employee records in line with GDPR and safeguarding requirements
• Support with employee relations matters, such as absence, disciplinary and grievance procedures
• Liaise with external providers such as payroll, pensions, and occupational health
• Ensure compliance with safer recruitment policies and school HR procedures

What we’re looking for:

• Previous HR experience in an education or public sector setting (preferred)
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Strong understanding of employment legislation and safeguarding practices
• Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across all staff levels
• CIPD Level 3 or equivalent qualification (or working towards)
