Anopportunity has arisen for enthusiastic, highly motivated School Health SupportWorker to become part of the Worcestershire Public Health Nurse Team. Thesuccessful applicant will be part of a new, innovative model which willtransform health services for children, young people and families acrossWorcestershire.
The School HealthSupport Worker role encompasses aspects of the Healthy Child Programme, workingwithin schools and communities, undertaking the National Childhood MeasurementProgramme and supporting School Health Nurses.
The 0-19 PublicHealth Nursing service operates across six localities Redditch, Bromsgrove,Worcester, Malvern, Wyre Forest and Wychavon. You would be based within oneDistrict but will be asked to work in other areas to complete the Programme,mileage expenses are provided.

Under the direction of theSpecialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN), you will facilitate healthscreenings for Reception, Year 6, and Year 9 students by assisting with thesetup and administration.
The candidate will engage andsupport children, young people, and their parents/carers in completingnecessary questionnaires and understanding the screening process.
The candidate will organise andconduct National Child Measurement Programme measurements for Reception andYear 6 students, ensuring accurate height and weight recordings in accordancewith national standards.
Supporting the coordination ofNCMP sessions and the timely input of data for national reporting will be partof the role
Thecandidate will promote key public health messages and healthy lifestyleinitiatives during school events, parent evenings, and community engagements,focusing on healthy weight and general health and wellbeing linked to theHealthy Child Programme and High Impact Areas.
