This important role involves supporting pupils with their health needs, helping them stay safe and well during the school day. You’ll work closely with staff and families to provide care that makes a real difference.

Role Overview:

As aSchool Health Care Support Worker, you will provide essential medical and pastoral care to pupils with complex health conditions and additional learning needs. You’ll support students with a range of diagnoses including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), and other medical conditions that require hands-on personal care and therapeutic support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver personal care, including toileting, feeding, and hygiene support.
• Administer or assist with medication and feeding routines under supervision.
• Monitor students’ physical and emotional wellbeing throughout the day.
• Provide classroom support during structured learning and therapeutic activities.
• Maintain clear documentation and contribute to individual care plans.
• Liaise with teachers, therapists, nurses, and families to provide consistent support.
• Uphold safeguarding policies and maintain a safe environment for all learners.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience in a care, health, or SEN school setting is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of working with children or young people with medical or complex needs.
• Comfortable delivering intimate care and undertaking manual handling duties.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and health & safety procedures.
• Kind-hearted, calm, and reliable, with a team-focused mindset.
• Ability to work under direction and also show initiative when needed.
• Have anupdated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps)and anenhanced DBSregistered to theUpdate Service(or be willing to apply for one).
