Job summary

Gildredge House in Eastbourne is seeking a School Estates Assistant to support the Estates Team with practical outdoor duties, grounds maintenance and daily setup tasks in the dining hall.

The role is part-time, term-time only, with a pro-rata salary of £8,603 for the current year; start date November 2026. Applicants must demonstrate safeguarding awareness and a commitment to child welfare in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Experience operating electrical outdoor equipment (leaf blowers, mowers, etc.).
• Ability to work outdoors all year round.
• Commitment to safeguarding young people.
• Able to lift and handle loads safely.

Responsibilities

• Assist with grounds maintenance and outdoor duties.
• Set up tables in dining hall each morning.
• Work as part of Estates Team within a school environment.
