You will assist with practical activities, stock checks, safety checks, and resource preparation, maintaining health and safety and helping pupils develop cooking and nutritional skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Food Technology, catering, hospitality, school or practical support environment.
• Good knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and food hygiene.
• Excellent organisational and practical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to Health & Safety.
• Confidence using a range of kitchen equipment and Food Technology resources.
• Understanding of food allergies, dietary requirements and safe food handling.
• Ability to prepare resources and manage priorities.

Responsabilités

• Preparing ingredients, equipment and materials for Food Technology lessons.
• Supporting teachers during practical food preparation and cooking activities.
• Ensuring kitchens, classrooms and food preparation areas are clean, safe and well organised.
• Maintaining and checking Food Technology equipment and reporting faults where necessary.
• Monitoring food stocks and ordering or replenishing ingredients and consumables as required.
• Ensuring ingredients are stored correctly and safely, including temperature and hygiene controls.
• Assisting with the safe use of ovens, hobs, mixers, processors and other equipment.
• Maintaining Health & Safety and COSHH procedures.
• Assisting with preparation and organisation of practical assessments and examinations.
• Supporting pupils during practical activities and encouraging safe working practices.
• Preparing demonstrations and resources to support classroom teaching.
• Maintaining records of equipment, stock, maintenance and safety checks.
• Liaising with Food Technology teachers and other DT staff.
• Supporting smooth day-to-day running of the department.
