Job description

School Food Technician – North Somerset

32 Hours Per Week | Local Schools | September Start

Love food? Handy in the kitchen? Brilliant at keeping things running smoothly? You might just be the perfect fit.

We're looking for a practical, organised, and enthusiastic Food Technician to support secondary school food technology departments in North Somerset. You'll be helping the next generation learn to cook, create, and (hopefully) clean up after themselves!

What you'll be doing:
  • Prepping ingredients and equipment before lessons

  • Supporting teaching staff during practical sessions

  • Helping maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment

  • Managing stock levels and ordering supplies when needed

  • Encouraging pupils as they develop essential life skills

Who this role suits:

You don’t need to be a chef, but a love for food and a good head for organisation will go a long way. Experience working in a school or kitchen setting is a bonus, but training and support are provided.

Ideal if you:

  • Are confident handling food and equipment

  • Have strong organisational skills

  • Enjoy working with young people

  • Are reliable, friendly, and ready to muck in

  • Can work flexibly across school hours, totalling 32 hours a week

What you’ll get:
  • Weekly pay through PAYE—no umbrella company faff

  • Access to Protocol Education’s free CPD and training

  • A friendly consultant who actually picks up the phone

  • Opportunities to grow and develop in school settings
