Robertson Bell is proud to be working with a well-regarded educational institution to recruit a School Finance Manager on a permanent basis. This is a crucial role within the leadership team, offering the opportunity to take ownership of the school’s financial operations, support strategic decision-making, and help deliver the best outcomes for students through effective resource management.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading on budget setting and financial planning in collaboration with senior leaders.

Preparing monthly management accounts, monitoring financial performance, and completing reconciliations.

Overseeing payroll checks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies.

Supporting the development and implementation of efficient financial systems and procedures.

Managing and developing finance staff, providing guidance and day-to-day oversight.

Acting as a key contact for auditors and supporting the school’s readiness for inspections and financial reviews.

This role is based across two school sites with a hybrid working arrangement and offers a supportive and collaborative environment. You’ll benefit from a strong pension scheme, generous leave entitlement, and excellent professional development opportunities.

The successful candidate will:

Have experience working in the education sector

Demonstrate strong budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis skills.

Be proficient in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.

Have experience managing or supporting finance staff.

  • Be a confident communicator, able to work effectively with stakeholders.
