Job summary

Buckler’s Mead Academy in Yeovil, Somerset, is seeking a proactive Facilities Operative to join our premises team. You will help maintain the school’s buildings, contents and grounds to the highest standards for pupils, staff and visitors.

The role involves supporting the Premises Manager with servicing, procurement, health and safety, and contract management, including basic maintenance and refurbishment tasks. You will be a master key holder ensuring secure opening and closing of the premises.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities maintenance or site services.
• Ability to maintain accurate electronic records.
• Flexible and able to reprioritise urgent tasks.

Responsibilities

• Carry out basic maintenance, repair and refurbishment tasks.
• Support Premises Manager in servicing, procurement, health and safety, and contract management.
• Hold master key and unlock/lock premises at start and end of day.
• Work with staff, external agencies and partner schools to ensure high standards.
