Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is recruiting a Facilities Technician for Wester Hailes High School. The role involves day-to-day janitorial and DIY tasks across school facilities, including small repairs, general maintenance and reactive cleaning to support moves and events.

You will work under the Service Level Agreement and council policies, ensuring a proactive, safe, well-maintained environment. Applicants should be prepared for PVG disclosure and pre-employment checks where applicable.

Qualifications

• PVG Scheme/check is required for this role as it involves work with children and/or protected adults.
• Experience in general maintenance and cleaning within a school or facilities environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Equipment and furniture and fitting maintenance
• Building maintenance and services
• Security of premises and grounds
• Grounds maintenance
• Cleaning /Tidying
• Undertake minor maintenance and repairs to equipment in accordance with good practice and procedures
• Undertaking general porterage duties, including moving furniture for the setting up of rooms and halls for events, performances, exams, meetings
