Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a School Facilities Manager for a Lambeth-based school. The role focuses on a safe, secure, clean, and well-maintained environment, supporting day-to-day operations.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Site Manager to support effective management of the school premises, ensure safety and high standards across the site, and manage contractor activities as required. ASAP start with a two-weekly shift pattern and full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repairs.
• Understanding of health and safety principles and safe working practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a practical approach to tasks.
• Good communication, IT and interpersonal skills.
• Physical fitness and willingness to undertake manual duties.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the school premises according to shift pattern.
• Act as a key holder and respond to emergency call-outs.
• Ensure the security of buildings, grounds and equipment at all times.
• Carry out regular site checks and report security concerns.
• Undertake basic maintenance, repairs and general caretaking duties.
• Keep grounds and buildings clean, safe and presentable.
• Perform routine tasks such as litter picking and site inspections.
• Identify and report maintenance issues needing specialist attention.
• Support compliance with health and safety regulations and school procedures.
• Assist in maintaining a safe environment for students, staff and visitors.
• Report hazards, defects and potential risks promptly.
• Liaise with contractors, service providers and delivery personnel.
• Monitor contractor activities to ensure site procedures and safety requirements are followed.
• Assist with deliveries and movement of equipment around the site.
