Job summary

Westfield Arts College is seeking a reliable Caretaker to join our busy school team. This role covers 37 hours per week with split shifts across mornings and evenings, supporting maintenance, security, and a clean, welcoming environment for pupils and staff.

The successful candidate will have practical maintenance skills, a good health and safety understanding, and a valid driving licence. They will work independently and collaborate with contractors to ensure our facilities are safe and well

Qualifications

• Good practical maintenance skills and an understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Ideally prior experience in a similar caretaker role.
• Able to work independently using their own initiative.
• Have a full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the security, safety and day-to-day maintenance of the school site
• Carry out repairs, maintenance and improvement works
• Support the school's cleaning team to maintain a clean and welcoming environment
• Carrying out routine health and safety checks and liaising with contractors and external service providers as required
