Job summary

Service Care Solutions Ltd is seeking a dedicated Caretaker for a school in Washington. The role covers general upkeep of premises and grounds, routine maintenance, security checks and minor repairs to keep pupils, staff and visitors safe and welcoming.

Hours are 36 per week, with potential flexibility around start and finish times to meet school operations. DBS and safeguarding checks will be required prior to starting work.

Qualifications

• Experience in building or premises maintenance.
• Ability to carry out minor repairs and DIY tasks.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
• Ability to identify hazards and report maintenance issues.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Hands-on problem solving; able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Open and secure school premises per procedures.
• Conduct daily checks of buildings, grounds and facilities.
• Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs.
• Report defects and maintenance issues.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the site.
• Support site inspections and health & safety checks.
• Liaise with contractors and access control.
• Assist with setting up rooms for activities.
• Maintain records of checks and repairs.
