Job summary

Birmingham City Council is seeking School Crossing Patrol Wardens across Birmingham to help children safely cross roads at designated sites during school hours. The roles are term-time, permanent, and require morning and afternoon shifts at multiple locations around the city.

Salary sits at Grade A (£25,614–£29,071 pro rata). Applicants should have experience with children or the public and display reliability, communication, and a calm, proactive approach to problem‑solving outdoors in all

Qualifications

Experience working with children or the public.
Excellent communication skills with children, parents and drivers.
Friendly, approachable manner and strong customer-care skills.
Reliability, good timekeeping, patience, honesty and responsibility.
Ability to follow instructions and work within set guidelines.

Responsibilities

Assist children and adults to cross the road at designated sites during school term time.
Manage traffic by following proper crossing procedures and displaying the signed as required by law.
