Durham County Council is seeking a part-time School Crossing Patrol officer for Front Street, Sherburn. The role focuses on the safety of adults and children crossing designated points during specific morning and afternoon slots.
Term-time hours total 10 hours weekly; payment includes training, uniform and a retainer during school holidays. DBS checks are required as part of the employment process.
We have a vacancy for a permanent part-time School Crossing Patrol officer. Your role will be to ensure the safety of adult and child pedestrians crossing the road at designated crossing points during specified times. This vacancy is to work on Front Street, Sherburn.
The hours of duty to be worked each week [term-time only] are: Monday to Friday Morning: 7.45 - 8.55 am Afternoon: 2.50 - 3.40 pm Total: 2hr 00mins daily / 10hrs 00mins weekly.
Upon success you will receive full training, a uniform, and an appropriate retainer payment during school holidays. You will also be required to attend medical assessments as part of the job role as required.

Standard term time only pay is calculated on the basis of the following:
Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years' service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years' service will receive 32 days annual leave.
For example: Calculation for employees with less than 5 years' service: 38 weeks (term time) + 27 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 45 weeks' pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments
Calculation for employees with more than 5 years' service: 38 weeks (term time) + 32 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 46 weeks' pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments
