North Lincolnshire Council is seeking a community-minded individual to provide a school crossing patrol service for children and parents/guardians. You will judge when to stop traffic safely based on speed and distance, helping promote walking to school and improving safety.

The role is term-time only, with patrol times from 8:20am to 9:00am and 3:10pm to 3:50pm.

Qualifications

• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to assess traffic and decide when it is safe to stop pedestrians.

North Lincolnshire Council are seeking to recruit a community spirited individual to provide a school crossing service to children and their parents/guardians. Applicants should have a good understanding of road use and traffic awareness. You will need to use your judgement of speed and distance to know when it is safe to stop traffic and allow pedestrians to cross the road. The presence of a School Crossing Patrol encourages parents and children to walk to school, giving environmental and health benefits, in addition to improving safety on the site. Good verbal communication skills are essential. Duty times cover the period before school opens in the morning and the period after the school closes in the afternoon. This post is term-time only. The times on patrol are:

• 8.20am to 9.00am
• 3.10pm to 3.50pm
