Job Title: School Cover Supervisor

Location: Colchester
Salary: £110 - £120 per day, Term time only (8.30am-3.30pm)
Start Date: Summer Term 2025

The School and Role

Do you have experience working in a school setting as a School Cover Supervisor? Are you seeking paid secondary school experience in the Colchester area?

Our partnering Secondary schools in Colchester are seeking confident individuals who are passionate about education to work as School Cover Supervisors. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on a flexible schedule, either full-time or part-time.

The lesson will always be planned, and this will be provided in advance. It is your role as the School Cover Supervisor to facilitate the class's learning, manage classroom behaviour, record accurate registers, and provide a handover to the absent teacher. Successful School Cover Supervisors are adaptable, flexible, motivated, confident, and organised, with a passion for education and supporting young people.

This role provides a great opportunity to gain experience of working within a Secondary school prior to applying to Initial Teacher Training. Although previous experience of working in a Secondary School is desirable, it is not essential.

If you are new to the role, you will be offered a comprehensive Cover Supervisor Training Programme to equip you with the skills you need.

Minimum Requirements

The desired School Cover Supervisor will have:

• A degree or equivalent education.
• Experience working with young people or a willingness to learn.
• Leadership skills and confidence to lead a classroom of up to 30 students.
• A passion for education and providing the highest possible level of support to young people.
