Job description

School Counsellor

Location: Wimborne Minster, Dorset

Salary: £15,918 - £18,306 per annum

Vacancy Type: Permanent, Part Time

The Role

A dedicated professional is required to join the team at the school, responsible for supporting the mental and emotional wellbeing of pupils. Working 20 hours per week during term time, the School Counsellor will deliver face to face counselling sessions with pupils aged 13 to 18 years whilst also working closely with the school’s pastoral teams and external agencies as required.

Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will hold a professional qualification in counselling and have a current registration with the BACP. Experience of counselling children or young adults in a similar setting is essential as is a strong understanding of safeguarding and GDPR legislation. Applicants must be friendly and approachable and have excellent organisational, communication and administrative skills.
