Job summary

The Supply Register Ltd. is recruiting a School Cook for a partner school in Penzance. You will prepare nutritious meals in line with school standards and contribute to a clean, well-managed kitchen.

Responsibilities include menu planning, stock control, and ensuring food safety. Requires Level 2 Food Hygiene and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Cook, School Cook or in catering.
• A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Knowledge of food safety and allergen regulations.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Job description

The Supply Register is recruiting on behalf of one of our partner schools in Penzance for an enthusiastic and reliable School Cook to join their catering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced cook who enjoys preparing nutritious, high-quality meals and wants to make a positive impact on the school community.

The Role

• Preparing and serving healthy, nutritious meals in line with school food standards.
• Planning and preparing menus where required.
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
• Managing food stock, deliveries and stock rotation.
• Ensuring all food is prepared and served safely.
• Previous experience working as a Cook, School Cook or within a catering environment.
• A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
• Knowledge of food safety and allergen regulations.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Friendly, reliable and committed to providing an excellent catering service.

Essential Compliance Requirements

• Provide a full employment history covering the last 24 months.
• Provide a minimum of two employment references (three if you have not previously worked with children).
• Competitive hourly rate of £15.34 per hour.
• Term-time only working pattern, supporting a great work-life balance.
