Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a school cleaning team member to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff, pupils and visitors. You will perform routine cleaning, restock supplies and maintain hygiene across classrooms, offices, toilets and communal areas.

• Previous cleaning experience with knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, COSHH and safe practices.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine cleaning tasks at the scheduled time, following all relevant policies, procedures and COSHH requirements.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across communal areas, classrooms, offices, toilets, changing rooms and specialist spaces.
• Empty bins, collect and move refuse, and restock consumables such as soap, paper towels and toilet tissue.
• Use only approved cleaning products, equipment and materials safely and efficiently, in line with training provided.
• Undertake cleaning duties safely, using PPE and hazard signage where appropriate.
• Clean floors, furnishings, equipment, windows and mirrors to the required standard.
• Respond to ad-hoc cleaning requests on site when required.
• Be courteous, helpful and efficient, ensuring excellent customer care for staff, pupils and visitors.
• Work collaboratively with other cleaning staff to maintain consistent standards across the school.
• Take reasonable steps to minimise loss or damage to property and maintain a safe working environment.
• Previous experience in a similar cleaning role, with knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, COSHH and safe working practices.
• Strong communication and customer service skills, with a polite and professional manner.
• The ability to work efficiently, manage your time and adapt to changing priorities or requests throughout the day.
• A team-focused attitude, collaborating with colleagues to maintain high standards across the school.
• Reliability, flexibility and pride in delivering a clean, safe and welcoming environment for staff, pupils and visitors.
