Job summary

Barnsley Academy is seeking a part-time Cleaner to join our friendly facilities team. You will undertake a full range of cleaning duties using domestic and industrial equipment to keep all areas of the academy to a high-quality standard.

The role requires reliability, attention to detail and a good understanding of health and safety practices. This position is 25 hours per week on a 52-week contract, with a DBS check and safeguarding at the forefront of our recruitment.

Qualifications

• Ability to use, clean and maintain a full range of industrial and domestic cleaning equipment and materials.
• Good understanding of operational practices and working methods and schedules involved.
• Understanding and awareness of health and safety issues associated with cleaning materials, equipment and premises.
• Ability to maintain appropriate levels of security in all working areas.
• Ability to work effectively as an individual and part of a team.
• Experience in an education setting is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Main duties include cleaning floor space in teaching, communal and office areas using appropriate techniques and equipment.
• Clean internal surfaces, walls, windows and work surfaces to high hygiene standards.
• Empty wastepaper bins and remove waste to designated areas.
