Job summary

Smile Education are recruiting for a reliable and hardworking School Cleaner to join a welcoming school in the Walsall area. You will maintain a clean, safe environment for pupils and staff, cleaning classrooms, corridors and toilets to high standards. The role requires you to work independently and as part of a team with attention to health and safety.

Smile Education provide dedicated consultant support throughout the application and placement process, and safeguarding is a priority.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience, ideally within a school or similar setting.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.

Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, corridors and communal areas.
• Clean and maintain toilets and washrooms.
• Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Sweep, mop and vacuum floors.
• Clean surfaces and high-touch areas.
• Ensure cleaning equipment and products are used safely.
• Report maintenance or safety issues.
• Follow school cleaning and health and safety procedures.

The successful applicant will be responsible for cleaning classrooms, communal areas, toilets and other areas of the school, ensuring high standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the site.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Cleaning classrooms, corridors and communal areas
• Cleaning and maintaining toilets and washroom facilities
• Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately
• Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Cleaning surfaces and high-touch areas
• Ensuring cleaning equipment and products are used safely
• Reporting any maintenance or safety issues
• Following school cleaning and health and safety procedures
• Working efficiently both independently and as part of a team
