Chartwells is seeking a School Chef Manager for Huntingdon to lead a small catering unit in a school environment, ensuring high standards of food preparation, service and compliance with contractual and statutory requirements. You will organize a team, manage menus, control costs, and deliver quality meals for term-time operation (44.6 weeks).

The role includes free onsite parking, meals on duty, and a contributory pension, in a supportive, career‑driven environment.

Formación

• Proven experience in managing successful teams in a similar environment.
• Minimum 2 years catering experience.
• Excellent financial acumen.
• IT literate.
• Good knowledge and experience of working with food.
• Basic Food Hygiene certificate.

What you'll be doing:

To organise and supervise the unit in accordance with and to the standards required by Compass Group UK &I, the contract specification and statutory Regulations. To be responsible for the overall efficient and effective management of the unit under their control providing a quality service. Responsible for the preparation, cooking and service of food to agreed standards and specification. To ensure the efficient and economic use is made of all resources, including stock, team members and company assets.
