Job summary

Compass Group UK&I is seeking an experienced Chef Manager to lead the catering operation at a state school in the Maidstone area. You will organise and supervise the unit to the required standards, ensuring efficient use of resources, stock control and compliant service of meals.

You will manage a small team, apply strong financial acumen, and uphold food safety with HACCP standards while delivering quality pupil meals and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years catering experience.
• Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
• Experience in leading and managing a small team of people.
• Strong financial acumen and IT literacy.

Responsibilities

• Organise and supervise the unit in line with contract specs and regulations.

We're looking for an experienced and passionate Chef Manager to lead the catering operation at our state school.

What you'll be doing:

To organise and supervise the unit in accordance with and to the standards required by Compass Group UK & Ireland, the contract specification and statutory Regulations. To be responsible for the overall efficient and effective management of the unit under their control providing a quality service. Responsible for the preparation, cooking and service of food to agreed standards and specification. To ensure the efficient and economic use is made of all resources, including stock, team members and company assets.
