Overview

Maiden Erlegh Trust operates an in-house catering function, delivering high quality and nutritious food to students within our schools. Working under the direction of the Trust Catering Manager, the school chef will support the delivery of the menu and provide excellent care and customer service to students. The successful candidate will help grow the catering operations and support the Trust in implementing its sustainability objectives relating to catering operations. We are looking for staff who are flexible to support the needs of students and other stakeholders and to meet the operational needs of the school.

Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of the school menu under the direction of the Trust Catering Manager.
  • Provide excellent care and customer service to students.
  • Assist in growing catering operations and supporting sustainability objectives related to catering operations.
  • Be flexible to meet the operational needs of the school and other stakeholders.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience of fresh food preparation and service within a large catering operation.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and first aid.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with a range of people; COSHH knowledge is desirable.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in Microsoft Office applications to support the role.
  • Good organisational and planning skills, able to manage own time, prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Reliability, tact, sensitivity and diplomacy; ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to contribute as part of a team; proactive, flexible and adaptable; ability to show initiative.
  • Be aware of and practise good hygiene standards; ability to meet the physical requirements of the role.
